A biophysicist teaches himself how to code

I’m a biochemist/biophysicist by training. Along the way I’ve discovered that I can often simplify tasks by writing simple scripts to do some of the work. This blog is a repository for some of these.

My programming is entirely self-taught, and I’m sure it shows. I always welcome constructive criticism in the comments. One of the interesting things I’ve learned about programming is that there is always another way to do something, and often a better way.

I’m currently a post-doc researcher working in proteomics-ish things. Although I expose my work-in-progress bioinformatics skills on this site, my experience is predominately focused in protein production, purification, and biophysical characterization.
